5. Use and value renewable resources and services
This principle is a call to let nature do its work and use it to do work for you. Plants and animals reproduce themselves and also influence their environment during their growth and reproduction. You can use plants and animals in your design to achieve your goals. Think of grazers as mowers, worms as digging forks and plants such as comfrey as rhizome barriers.
